Academic Mentoring

Continuing Professional Development

A 2-hour staff meeting is usually held once a month. These scheduled staff meetings may include administrative or academic issues, professional development, training and other matters related to the goals of the school.

This year, two academic mentoring sessions have been scheduled, once in March and another in July.

The recent teacher mentoring session aimed at developing teachers' English Language proficiency in the context of correcting students' written errors and eliminating non-standard usage. Teachers worked in groups to identify errors and correct them.

Other topics that have been covered this year include:

  • best practices in the classroom
  • integrating ICT
  • lesson preparation
  • teaching methodologies and
  • classroom communication
