Educational Trip to Hitz.FM Studio 2016

Post PT3

Twenty-two students from the English Language Centre went on an educational trip to Astro Radio on 11 November 2016 to find out for themselves, the reality of working in the radio and entertainment industry particularly Hitz.fm. The trip was also aimed at exposing students to the use of the English language in the working environment.

To begin the tour, students were introduced to the Hitz.fm presenter, Kiyoshi Aihara, who has been with the radio station for a few years. Students were shown slides of the Hitz family including presenters like Natasha, Veronica and Jeremiah who took turns entertaining listeners on air. Students were given multitasking activities like asking questions and interviewing personnel from different departments within the radio station.

Another important group of young people who promote Hitz.Sarawak into the society are the Hitz Perodua Cruisers, who drive around the city, particularly in the afternoons. They organize simple contests and give out freebies to the public.

Before leaving the studio, students had the chance of a lifetime when they were given the opportunity to record several English segments - which included Christmas and Chinese New Year greetings as well as a grammar awareness skit.
